Specimen Required: | Collect: Thin Prep Pap Test Collection Kit OR Aptima Vaginal/Penile Meatal/ Endocervical/ Male Urethral Swab OR Aptima Urine (Yellow) Kit OR Urine in Sterile Container must be transferred into Aptime Urine (Yellow) in 24 hour of collection time. Specimen Collection and Handling for URINE: – The patient should not have urinated for at least 1 hour prior to specimen collection. – Direct patient to provide a fist-catch urine (approximately 20-to 30 ml of the initial urine stream) into a urine collection sterile cup free of any preservitives. female patients should not cleanse the labial area prior to providing the specimen. – Remove the cap and transfer 2 ml of urine into the urine specimen transport (Yellow Aptima) tube using the disposable pipette provided. The correct volume of urine has been added when level is between the black fill lines of the urine specimen transport tube label. – Re-cap the urine specimen transport tube tightly.
