Specimen Required:Patient Preparation: No special preparation of patient is required prior to specimen collection.

Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) AND Lavender (EDTA) Tube- 2 tubes.
Specimen Preparation: Follow all precaution for handling biological material. Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. 
Stability:
For SST: After separation of cells: Refrigerated: 1 week, Frozen: 1 month 
For LAV: Refrigerated : 48 hours
Rejection Criteria: Any sample that is mislabeled; Any broken or damaged tubes.
