Specimen Required: | Patient Preparation: Timing of specimen collection: Pre-dose (trough) draw – At steady state concentration. Collect: Plain red. Also acceptable: Lavender (K2 or K3EDTA) or Pink (K2EDTA) – 1 ml serum or plasma Specimen Preparation: Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer separated serum or plasma to a plastic transport tube. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 1 month; Refrigerated: 1 month; Frozen: 2 months At ACCU Refrigerates: 1 week; Frozen: 2 weeks. Causes for Rejection: Whole blood. Gel separator tubes, light blue (citrate), or yellow (SPS or ACD solution). NOTE: * This test is approved for all states. * Performing Lab ARUP Laboratories. |
