Specimen Required: | Patient Preparation: Fasting specimens preferred for B1, B2, B6 Vitamins. Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) AND Lavender (EDTA) AND Sodium Heparin (Green). Specimen Preparation: Allow specimens to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum AND plasma from cells ASAP or within 1 hour of collection. Transfer plasma (LAV) in a Standard Transfer Tube and FREEZE immediately; Transfer plasma (GREEN) in a Amber (protect from light) Transfer Tube and FREEZE. Storage/Transport Temperature & Stability: SST tube : Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 month.
