Specimen Required: | Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) – 1.5 ml serum. Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. Stability: After separation of cells: Refrigerated: 1 week, Frozen 2 weeks Remark: Additional SST Tube needs to be drawn if multiple tests are ordered. Rejection Criteria: Any sample that is mislabeled; Any broken or damaged tubes.
