Specimen Required: | Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) – 1.5 ml serum. Specimen Preparation: All human Serum Samples are considered to be potentially infective and are to be treated as such. Follow all precaution for handling biological material. Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. Stability: After separation of cells: Refrigerated: 1 week, Frozen: 2 weeks Remark: Additional SST Tube needs to be drawn if multiple tests are ordered. Rejection Criteria: Any sample that is mislabeled; Any broken or damaged tubes.
