Specimen Required: | Collect: Gel-barrier tube (SST) OR Red Top Tube – 0.5 ml serum or plasma. Specimen Preparation: Samples Should be obtained between 15 Minute and 3 Hours after the event suspected of causing MAST CELL ACTIVATION. When sample is drawn , separate serum from cells within 3 hours of collection. Storage/Transport Temperature: Frozen Stability: After separation from cells: Room Temperature: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 7 days; Frozen: 30 days At ACCU: Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 2 weeks.
