Specimen Required: | Patient preparation: None required. Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) – 0.5 ml. Specimen Preparation: Follow all precaution for handling biological material. Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Serum free from hemolysis is the recommended specimens. Allow blood samples to clot (15 mins). Separate the serum from the cells by centrifuging for 10 minutes. Store serum at 2-8°C until analysis. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. Stability: Room Temperature 15°C to 30°C/Refrigerated 2°C to 8°C: 7 days; Frozen: -20°C or colder: 30 days. Thaw samples no more than three times. At ACCU: Refrigerated: 7 days: Frozen: 2 weeks Specimen Rejection Criteria: • Specimen collected in the incorrect tube. • Specimen received with mismatch or no patient identifier. • Specimen received outside stability requirements.
