Collect: Whole blood Lavender (EDTA)

Specimen Preparation: All human Serum Samples are considered to be potentially infective and are to be treated as such. Follow all precaution for handling biological material. Use all appropriate Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE). Immediately after drawing the blood, gently mix the blood by inverting the tube 5-10 times. This helps ensure proper mixing of the blood with the preservative.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.
Stability:  Refrigerated: 48 hours
Specimen Rejection Criteria • Specimen collected in other tubes not EDTA tubes • Specimen received with
mismatched or no patient identifiers. • Specimen received outside of stability requirements • Sample must
be neither coagulated not hemolyzed (Do not mix vigorously!)
