Specimen Required: | Patient Preparation: No fasting is required. The analysis is carried out preferentially on urine collected over 24 hours. Urine samples must be collected following established procedures used in clinical laboratory testing. Collect: 24-hour urine. Refrigerate during collection. – 5 ml urine Specimen Preparation: Transfer well-mixed 24-hour collection urine to in Standard Sterile Container. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. Remarks: Record total volume and collection time interval on a Sterile Container tube and test request form. Stability: Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: 7 days. IMPORTANT: Do not store samples at – 18 /- 30°C. Thawed or improperly stored samples may show modified or additional fractions due to protein degradation. NOTE: Urine samples should not be stored at room temperature. Specimen Rejection Criteria: Specimen received with mismatched or no patient identifiers. Specimen received outside of stability requirements.
