Specimen Required: | Patient Preparation: Non-fasting accepted. Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) – 0.5 ml serum Specimen Preparation: Allow blood samples to clot (15 mins). Separate the serum from the cells by centrifuging for 10 minutes. Store serum at 2-8°C until analysis. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated Stability: Room temperature 15°C to 30°C: 1 week ; Refrigerated 2°C to 8°C: 1 week; Frozen -20° C or colder: 1 month. Do not thaw samples more than once. At ACCU: Refrigerated: 7 days; Frozen: 2 weeks. Specimen Rejection Criteria: • Specimens collected in the incorrect tubes. • Specimens received with mismatched or no patient identifiers. • Specimen received outside of stability requirements. • Grossly Hemolyzed or Lipemic samples.
