Specimen Required: | Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) – 1 ml serum, CSF, tears, or other body fluid – 0.5 ml fluid. (Urine not accepted.) Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer serum OR CSF, tears OR other body fluid to a Standard Transport Tube. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. Unacceptable Conditions: Urine. Remarks: Indicate source on the test request form. Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 month Note: This test is approved for NY.
