Specimen Required: | Patient Preparation: Draw specimens 12 hours after initiating therapy for arrhythmia prophylaxis, then every 24 hours thereafter. Collect: Plain Red OR Green (sodium heparin) – 0.5 ml serum or plasma. Specimen Preparation: Separate serum or plasma from cells immediately. Transfer serum or plasma to a Standard Transport Tube. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. Unacceptable Conditions: Separator tubes (SST). Stability: After separation from cells: Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 month NOTE: * This test is approved for all states. * Performing Laboratory ARUP Laboratory |
