Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH)
123
Methodology: | Spectrophotometry |
Performed: | Sun-Sat |
Reported: | 1-2 days |
Specimen Required: | Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) – 0.5 ml serum. Specimen preparation: Serum free from hemolysis is the recommended specimens. Allow blood samples to clot (15 mins). Separate the serum from the cells by centrifuging for 10 minutes. Storage/Transport: Room Temperature Stability: The stability of LD in serum at different storage temperatures has been studied by various investigators. Although the results are inconsistent, it has been established that heart isoenzymes are more stable than liver isoenzymes. In any event, it is essential that a standard collection and storage procedure be adopted to ensure consistent results. It is better not to refrigerate or freeze specimens, but to hold it at room temperature (18 – 25°C) with analysis done as soon as possible. At Accu Reference: Room Temperature: 24 hrs NOTE: * This test is approved for all states. * Performing Lab Accu Reference Medical Laboratory |
