Specimen Required: | Collect: Serum separator tube (SST) OR Lt. blue (sodium citrate) OR Green (sodium or lithium heparin) OR Lavender (EDTA) – 0.5 ml serum or plasma. Specimen Preparation: Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer plasma to a Standard Transport Tube. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. Unacceptable Conditions: Specimens containing particulate material.
