Specimen Required: | Collect: Lavender (EDTA) – 1.5 ml plasma. Please follow specimen preparation for plasma -1.5 ml. DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL Lavender (EDTA) TUBE! PLEASE SUBMIT A UNIQUE TUBE FOR THIS TEST Specimen Preparation: Follow all precaution for handling biological material. Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Whole blood can be stored at 2°C to 30°C prior to centrifugation and must be centrifuged within 24 hours of specimen collection. Transfer plasma to a Standard Transport tube. Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated or Frozen Unacceptable Conditions: Heparinized specimens or SST specimens. Whole blood. Any sample that is mislabeled; Any broken or damaged tubes.
