Specimen Required:Collect: Lavender (EDTA)  – 0.5 ml Whole Blood.

Specimen Preparation: Follow all precaution for handling biological material. Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Send Original LAV tube to the Laboratory.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.
Unacceptable Conditions: Frozen or room temperature specimens.
Stability: Ambient: Unacceptable, Refrigerated: 1 week, Frozen: Unacceptable
Rejection Criteria:
1. Any sample that is mislabeled, mismatched or no patient identifiers
2. Any sample without a test request
3. Any broken or damaged tubes
4. Specimens collected in the incorrect tubes.
5. Specimen received outside of stability requirements.
