Specimen Required: | Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) – 0.5 ml Specimen preparation: Serum free from hemolysis is the recommended specimens. Allow blood samples to clot (15 mins). Separate the serum from the cells by centrifuging for 10 minutes. Store serum at 2-8°C until analysis. Storage/Transport: Refrigerated Stability: Use fresh sample for analysis when possible. Serum should not remain at room temperature longer than 14 hours. Should analysis not be completed within 14 hours, serum samples may be stored refrigerated for up to one week. If specimens need to be stored for more than 1 week, they may be preserved frozen at -70C for up to 3 months. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing of the sample. Samples should only be frozen once.
