Specimen Required: | Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) OR Green (sodium or lithium heparin) OR Lavender (EDTA) – 1 ml serum or plasma. Specimen Preparation: Collect one tube per timed specimen. Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer plasma per timed specimen to individual Standard Transport Tubes. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated Unacceptable Conditions: Tissue or urine.
