Specimen Required: | Collect: Gray (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate). Serum Separator Tube (SST) is acceptable. Specimen Preparation: 1st draw: fasting basis; administer a 50 OR 75 gram glucose load immediately after the 1st draw; 2nd draw – 1 hour after the administration of glucose; 3rd draw – 1 hour after the 2nd draw; 4th draw – 1 hour after the 3rd draw; For gestational diabetes (Pregnancy) – 100 gram glucose drink. Specimen Preparation Recommendations: Separate plasma from cells and refrigerate within 2 hours of collection. Total – 4 gray tubes Storage/Transport Temperature: Room temperature Stability: Room Temperature: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 72 hours Remark: Label each tube with the patient’s name and time interval Note: *This test is approved for all states. * Performing Lab Accu Reference Medical Laboratory |
