Specimen Required:Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) OR Lavender (EDTA) OR Lt. blue (sodium citrate) OR Green (sodium or lithium heparin) – 1 ml serum or plasma.
Specimen Preparation: Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer plasma to a Standard Transport Tube. 
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. 
Unacceptable Conditions: Contaminated, heat-inactivated, or turbid specimens. 
Stability: After separation from cells: Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 month
