Specimen Required: | Patient Preparation: None required Collect: Red Top tube (no anticoagulant) or Serum Separator Tube (SST) – 0.5 ml serum. Specimen Preparation: Follow all precaution for handling biological material. Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Allow blood to clot completely at room temperature (18-28°C) for 30-60 minutes, centrifuge for 10 to 15 min at 3441 rpm. Pour off serum (from Red Top Tube) into transfer tube. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigearated. Stability: Store samples at room temperature (18-28°C) for no longer than 8 hours; Refrigerated: 7 days; Frozen at -20°C or lower: 2 weeks. Rejection Criteria: Specimens must be free of haemolysis, lipemia, visible microbial contamination, and have not undergone any heat-treatment.
