Specimen Required:	Collect: Gray (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate) OR Plain Red OR Green (sodium heparin) OR lavender (EDTA) – 4 ml plasma or serum. Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Remove plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer plasma or serum to a Standard Transport Tube. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. Unacceptable Conditions: Specimens exposed to repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Separator tubes. Plasma or whole blood collected in lt. blue (sodium citrate).
