Specimen Required: | Patient Preparation: Non-fasting accepted. Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) – 0.5 ml serum. Specimen Preparation: Follow all precaution for handling biological material. Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature . Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. Stability: After separation of cells: Room Temperature 15°C to 30°C/Refrigerated 2°C to 8°C : 7 days; Frozen: -20° C or colder: 30 days. At ACCU: Refrigerated: 7 days; Frozen: 2 weeks. Specimen Rejection Criteria: • Specimen collected in the incorrect tube. • Specimen received with mismatch or no patient identifier. • Specimen received outside stability requirements.
