Specimen Required: | Collect: Raw stool in a sterile container OR Orange Para-Pak C&S Stool Container. Specimen Preparation: Para-Pak C&S orange-capped vial: 1. Carefully uncap the vial. 2. Using the plastic spoon attached to the cap, transfer enough stool to bring the liquid level up to the red arrow on the label marked “ADD SPECIMEN TO THIS LINE”. 3. Recap the vial tightly and shake well. 4. Write the patient name and date and time of collection on the label. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated Stability: Unpreserved Stool in a Sterile Container: Refrigerated 72 hours Preserved (C&S container): Refrigerated: 72 hours; Indefinite frozen (<=negative 10 degrees stability decreases with multiple thaw cycles).
