Specimen Required: | Patient Preparation: Patient should be fasting 12 hours. Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) AND Red Top Tube. Specimen Preparation: Follow all precaution for handling biological material. Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Allow blood to clot completely at room temperature (20-26°C) for 30-60 minutes, centrifuge for 10 to 15 min. Transfer aliquot serum into a transport tube labeled as “Red Top Serum” and cap tightly. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigearated. Stability: After separation of cells: Refrigerated: 1 week, Frozen 2 weeks Rejection Criteria: Specimens collected in the incorrect tubes. Specimens received with mismatched or no patient identifiers. Specimen received outside of stability requirements. Grossly Hemolyzed or Lipemic samples. Profile Components: C907 – NMR Lipoprotein; 110 – CPK (Creatinine Kinase); 712 – CK-MB; 3392 – hsTroponin I; 2007 CRP Cardio/NEO (HS).
