Specimen Required:	Patient Preparation: None required Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) AND Green top (lithium-heparin) tube. Specimen Preparation: Follow all precaution for handling biological material. Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Allow blood to clot completely at room temperature (20-26°C) for 30-60 minutes, centrifuge for 10 to 15 min. Transfer separated heparin plasma to a plastic transport tube and freeze in 24 hours. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigearated. Stability: After separation of cells: SST Tube: Refrigerated: 1 week, Frozen 2 weeks. Green Tube: Fozen: 12 months Rejection Criteria: Specimens collected in the incorrect tubes. Specimens received with mismatched or no patient identifiers. Specimen received outside of stability requirements. Sample other than lithium heparin plasma.
