Specimen Required:Patient Preparation: None required 
Collect: Red Top Tube – 0.5 ml serum. 
Specimen Preparation: Follow all precaution for handling biological material.
Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).  Allow blood samples to clot (15 mins). Separate the serum from the cells by centrifuging for 10 minutes. Submit serum in a plastic transport tube.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigearated.
Stability: After separation of cells:  Refrigerated: 1 week, Frozen 2 weeks
NOTE: Serum free from hemolysis is the recommended specimens.
Rejection Criteria: Any sample that is mislabeled; Any broken or damaged tubes.
