Specimen Required: | Patient Preparation: None required. Serum samples, free from hemolysis, are the recommended specimens. Remove serum from the red cells as soonas possible to minimize hemolysis. Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) – 0.5 ml serum. Specimen Preparation: Follow all precaution for handling biological material. Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Allow blood samples to clot (15 mins). Separate the serum from the cells by centrifuging for 10 minutes Storage/Transportation: Room Temperature. Stability: After separation of cells: Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen 2 weeks Rejection Criteria: Any sample that is mislabeled; Any broken or damaged tubes.
