Specimen Required: | Patient Preparation: None required. Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST®) – 0.5 ml serum. Serum free from hemolysis is the recommended specimen. Specimen Preparation: Follow all precaution fo rhandling biological material. Use al lappropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Allow blood samples to clot (15 mins). Separate the serum from the cells by centrifuging for 10 minutes. Store serum at 2-8°C until analysis. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated Stability: Room Temperature: 24 Hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 2 weeks Rejection Criteria: Any sample that is mislabeled; Any broken or damaged tubes; hemolysed sample.
