Specimen Required: | Patient Preparation: Timing of specimen collection: Pre-dose (trough) draw – At steady state concentration. Collect: Gray (Potassium Oxalate/Sodium Fluoride). Also acceptable: Plain Red, Green (Sodium Heparin), Lavender (K2 or K3EDTA) or pink (K2EDTA) – 1 ml serum/plasma. Specimen Preparation: Separate serum or plasma from cells within 2 hours of collection. Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated. Unacceptable Conditions: Gel separator tubes. Plasma or whole blood collected in light blue (sodium citrate). Hemolyzed specimens. Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 3 years (Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles).At Accu: Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 2 weeks.
