Specimen Required:Patient Preparation: An 8-12 hours fast is recommended, bur not required. Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) – 0.5 ml serum. 
Specimen Preparation: Use all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).  Allow specimen to clot (15 min.) completely at room temperature. Separate serum from cells by centrifuging for 10 min. Serum free from hemolysis is the recommended specimen. Serum should be separated from cells within 2 hours after collecion. 
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.
Stability: Refrigerated 4 days, Frozen 2 weeks. 
Reject Creteria: Mislabeled; broken or damaged tubes, the sample w/o test request.
