Specimen Required: | Patient Preparation: See Individual Tests. Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) – 2 Tubes AND Lavender (EDTA) – 1 ml plasma. Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot (15 min.) completely at room temperature. Separate serum from cells by centrifuging for 10 min. Separate the plasma LAV from the cells and FREEZE immediatelly in a transfer tube. Storage/Transport Temperature: SST- Refrigerated; LAV plasma- Frozen. Stability: SST- Refrigerated days, Frozen 2 weeks. LAV- Frozen 2 weeks. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing of the specimen. Reject Creteria: Mislabeled; broken or damaged tubes, the sample w/o test request. Components: – Aldosterone; – Cortisol; – DHEA-Sulfate; – ACTH; – 17-OH Progesterone, LC/MS – Pregnenolone.
